Staying at the official hotel keeps your costs down, puts you steps from the sessions, and in the middle of where attendees connect during the day and after hours.
Here’s why it matters financially: the forum negotiates a discounted room rate in exchange for guaranteeing the hotel a set number of bookings that also allows us to use the hotel’s meeting facilities. If we fall short of that commitment, the hotel charges us for the empty rooms and meeting space regardless, and that cost may get passed straight into the next registration fee.
